📘 FAQs – For Clients

💡 How does your tuition agency work?

We connect students with qualified tutors for 1-to-1 home or online lessons. You tell us your needs, we shortlist suitable tutors, and once you confirm, lessons can begin as early as the same week.

📖 Do you provide trial lessons?

Yes, we offer paid trial lessons with no commitment. If you’re satisfied, the tutor continues. If not, we’ll help you find a replacement.

💵 How are fees paid?

Here’s how it works:

**Standard Rate (40% Commission charged to the tutor):**

- If the 1st month’s tuition fee is $200 (4 lessons), we will collect $80 (40% of $200) after the first 2 lessons.

- You will then pay the remaining $120 to the tutor directly at the end of the month.

**Subsidised Rate (30% Commission charged to the tutor):**

- If the tuition is for a family in need and the agreed fee is $160, we will collect $48 (30% of $160).

- The remaining $112 will be paid to the tutor.

For subsequent months, parents will pay the full monthly fee directly to the tutor (no further commission is charged).

⚠️ *To maintain fairness and sustainability, each tutor may only take on a limited number of subsidised rate assignments per month (subject to agency approval).*

🧾 Is there any registration fee?

No — our service is completely free for our clients.

🎓 What if I’m not satisfied with the tutor?

Let us know within the first few lessons, and we will offer a free replacement. No questions asked — we want what’s best for our clients. Please note that tuition fees for any lessons already completed will still be payable.

🕒 What if I need to cancel or reschedule a lesson?

Please inform the tutor at least 4 hours in advance as a matter of courtesy. This helps maintain a good relationship and respect the tutor's time.

🧑‍🏫 Who are your tutors?

Our tutors range from MOE-trained teachers, ex-teachers, to experienced full time/part time private tutors. All are screened for qualifications, teaching experience, and professionalism.

🧍 Do you offer tutors for all education levels?

Yes! We have tutors for:
- Pre-school

- Primary
- Secondary
- Junior College

- Polytechnic / University
- Conversational Malay for adults

❤️ What if I cannot afford full tuition rates?

We believe every child deserves access to education. If your family qualifies under financial assistance (e.g. ComCare, MOE FAS, or meets our income criteria), we offer subsidised rates and lower commission so tutors receive more while you pay less. You’ll be asked to indicate this in the parent request form.

📄 Do I need to show proof for subsidised rates?

Yes — to ensure fairness and transparency, we may ask for supporting documents (e.g. ComCare letter, FAS approval, CPF household income statement). All information will be kept strictly confidential in line with PDPA guidelines.

🌐 Do you offer online tuition?

Yes! We offer both home-based and online 1-to-1 tuition. Online tuition is a flexible and effective option for busy students or those who prefer learning from home. Our tutors are experienced in conducting lessons via Zoom, Google Meet, or other online platforms. Resources such as digital worksheets, screen sharing, and real-time feedback are used to ensure engaging lessons.

❌ What if I need to terminate lessons early?

No problem — just let us and the tutor know. You only pay for lessons conducted up to that point.

💰 What are the payment methods?

You can pay via PayNow, bank transfer, or any method agreed upon with the tutor. The first payment to the agency is via PayNow.

📚 Are materials or worksheets provided?

This depends on each individual tutor. Some tutors may bring their own resources — past year papers, practice questions, or custom worksheets — but you can always check with them or request specific content.

🗓 Can I request specific lesson days or weekends?

Yes — once you confirm the tutor, you may arrange the lesson timings directly with them, including weekends or specific times.

📌 What happens if lessons are postponed or cancelled in the first month?

It’s important to inform the agency promptly of any changes to the lesson schedule, especially within the first month.

📘 FAQs – For Tutors

💰 What is your commission structure?
We charge a one-time commission based on the first month of confirmed lessons:
- Standard assignments: 40% of the first month’s tuition fee
- Subsidised assignments: 30% of the first month’s tuition fee

This ensures that even for lower-fee cases, tutors are still fairly compensated.

Note: Our agency typically collects the commission only after the second lesson is completed, to ensure the assignment is properly confirmed. For example, if there are four lessons in the first month (as initially agreed) for a standard assignment, the parent pays the 40% commission directly to us after the second lesson. After the fourth lesson, the parent pays the remaining 60% directly to you.

💙 Why is the commission lower for subsidised students?
We aim to support families who may otherwise struggle to afford tuition. By charging a lower commission (30%), we ensure:
- You earn more even on subsidised assignments
- Students from lower-income backgrounds get quality support
- The agency can sustainably grow this mission

How will I know if an assignment is subsidised?
Each job listing will clearly indicate if it's a subsidised case. We’ll also provide the expected fee and commission upfront before you confirm.

Can I choose whether to accept subsidised tuition jobs?
Yes — you can indicate your preference during registration and choose case-by-case if you’d like to accept such assignments.

What happens if lessons are postponed but not cancelled?

Commission is based on the original number of lessons (e.g., 4 per month). Postponed lessons should be made up within the same month or shortly after.

What happens if lessons are cancelled permanently  (not rescheduled)?

Commission is adjusted based on the actual number of lessons completed. For example, if only 2 out of 4 lessons are completed, commission is based on the fee for 2 lessons.

🛑What happens if the student withdraws entirely before the second lesson?

- A 40% commission (or 30% for subsidised cases) on the first lesson applies if the student does not continue.

- For paid trials that do not proceed, similar 40% or 30% commission applies.

- The client pays the full amount for the completed lesson to the agency, and we will transfer the tutor’s portion accordingly.

- This covers tutor time and our coordination efforts, even if the assignment doesn’t proceed.

🧪 Do parents request trial lessons?
Yes — some parents may request a paid trial lesson (usually 1 hour or 1 session) before committing to a regular weekly schedule.

Will I get paid for trial lessons?
Yes. All trial lessons are paid. Payment is handled in one of two ways:
- If the trial leads to a regular assignment: It counts toward your first month’s commissionable hours.
- If the parent doesn’t continue after the trial:
You will still be paid for the completed trial, and our standard 30%/40% commission will be charged on that fee. Our agency will collect the trial fee from the parent and disburse the balance to you after deducting the commission.

📅 What if a lesson needs to be postponed or cancelled?
We understand that unforeseen circumstances happen. As a matter of courtesy, we kindly request that parents or students inform the tutor at least 4 hours in advance if there are any changes to the scheduled lesson time. This helps tutors manage their schedules more effectively and maintain a professional relationship.

📄 Do you require proof of qualifications or certificates?
Yes — we encourage you to show your credentials (e.g. NIE transcripts, teaching certificates,  academic results) during onboarding or at the first lesson. This helps build trust with parents.

🔁Do tutors need to commit to a minimum duration?
We ask tutors to commit to at least four lessons (1 month). If you end early without a valid reason, please inform us, we want to manage replacement smoothly.

🚫 What happens if I cancel an assignment without notice?
Please inform us if there are unavoidable circumstances like illness. Frequent or unprofessional cancellations may affect future matching opportunities.

💬 What if a student is unhappy with my teaching?
We offer hassle-free tutor replacement within the first month if needed. This maintains high-quality service and satisfaction.

🔄 What if there's a break in lessons?
Let us know in advance. Adjustments to lesson timing or frequency may affect payment schedules or commissions.

📌 What happens if lessons are postponed or cancelled in the first month?

It’s important to inform the agency promptly of any changes to the lesson schedule, especially within the first month.

💳 Payment Collection Policy
You will not need to collect the commission fee on behalf of the agency, as we will bill the client directly.
In the case where a client does not pay the commission fees directly, the tutor may be asked to collect it on our behalf and transfer it to us.
